When you create studying materials in Canvas, such as pages, assignments, quizzes, or ungraded discussions, these items automatically sync with Woolf as resources. However, if your Canvas content is embedded (e.g., Google presentations, videos), it will not sync correctly with Woolf. This can result in an empty resource in Woolf if the embedded content is not handled properly.
When using embedded content in Canvas, always add a link to the file or the file itself below or above the embedded content. This allows Woolf to download and add the content to the resource.
If you prefer not to provide a download link or file in Canvas: Contact the Woolf support team for assistance.
To ensure that embedded content is available in Woolf, follow these guidelines:
Google Presentations
- Provide a direct link to the presentation.
- Ensure the link is publicly accessible.
- Alternatively, upload a PDF version of the presentation. Woolf will automatically download and store this PDF as a resource attachment.
Videos (e.g., Vimeo)
- Provide a download link for the video file.
- Refer to this Vimeo help article for instructions on obtaining a direct download link.
- Woolf system will download the video file from this link and attach it as a resource.
YouTube Videos
- Simply provide the YouTube video link.
- Woolf will use this link to access the video content.
Exemptions: If the embedded content is supplementary (e.g., a short YouTube video for engagement), and not critical to the studying material, you may skip providing a link or file.
By following these steps, you ensure that all relevant content is available and properly synced in Woolf.
