Setting Up a Degree in AMS: Configuration and Final Checklist
This guide explains how to prepare and launch a degree on Woolf. Some parts of the degree come directly from the Woolf license and cannot be changed. Other parts are provided by the college or can be customized.
Use this guide to understand:
- what is defined by Woolf and the license
- what information the college must provide
- what can be customized on the degree page
- what to check before launching the degree

These elements are defined by the Woolf license and accreditation requirements. They cannot be customized and are configured by the Woolf team.

| Tier names | Tier names can be customized and proposed by the college. |
Degree elements provided by the college but added by Woolf
These elements are defined by the college but must be added and configured by the Woolf team.

These elements can be edited by the college in the degree page.

To edit certificate elements:
Open Degree page on AMS β Edit β Degree certificate tab -> Edit needed fields. (Only verified College admin can do this)
Final steps: Degree verification and approval
When everything is ready, notify the Woolf team.
The Woolf Academic Team performs a final compliance review and verifies the degree.
Once the degree is verified:
- the degree becomes public on the Woolf website
- the degree becomes available for student enrollment
Academic Board approval
After the degree is verified by Woolf, the degree may also be approved by a member of your Academic Board.
This approval enables automatic approval of students when they complete the degree application. Without this step, each student would need to be approved manually by an Academic Board member to get admitted to the Degree.
Academic Board approval can be done in AMS: Degrees table β Approve degree
The Approve degree action becomes available only after the degree has been verified by Woolf.
Make sure an Academic Board member completes this step before inviting students. But it can be also done after if missed.
Checklist before launching the degree
Before asking Woolf to verify degree and inviting students, review the following checklist to make sure your degree is ready for launch.
Both the college team and the Woolf team review these items. During the verification process, the Woolf Academic Team performs a final compliance check. However, it is important that the college also reviews the information carefully.
Degree verification confirms that all parties agree the information is correct, and that the AMS record is the source of truth for all degree details.
