How do I apply for RPL for admissions?
You may apply through this link. Please note, there is a $200 fee for the application.
How does RPL for admission work?
As an applicant to a degree, you may exempted from certain eligibility requirements for prior education if your life experiences are evaluated to have provided equivalent learning, and the evidence of those experiences is strong.
For example, if you've partially completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and have worked as a software engineer for five years, you might be admitted directly into a master's program.
What do I need to apply for RPL?
While exact requirements will vary by individual programme, frequently cited types of evidence include: transcripts of EQF certified learning; other certified learning or open badges; references; authenticated reports; project work; blogs or video diaries; witness testimony; volunteering records; observation of practice or simulation; assessment on demand; structured interviews; or authenticated presentations. (Not all of these types will be relevant to every programme.)
What is the RPL Officer looking for in my application?
The RPL officers will seek evidence of your career, informal education, and life experiences that might exempt you from the regular admissions criteria and thereby allow for immediate enrollment. For example, if a bachelor's degree is required for admission to master's degree, and you have completed most of a bachelor's degree, and subsequently worked in a related industry, these may in combination exempt you from the requirement of having completed a bachelor's degree.
The RPL Officer requires both high quality experiences and high quality evidence of those experiences. In general, your application will be strengthened if you can provide more evidence: for example: signed letters from employers, transcripts from your prior universities, certificates of completion from informal education programs, etc.
